1. What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Account information (email address)
  • Pet profile data (name, breed, age, weight, conditions, medications, allergies, vaccinations, vet details)
  • Health logs (check-ins, symptom logs, weight entries, notes)
  • Photos you upload (pet profile photos, check-in photos)
  • AI chat conversations

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

  • Provide the Yumipal service (health tracking, AI insights, vet summaries)
  • Send your pet's profile and health history to AI models (Claude by Anthropic) to generate personalized health insights and responses
  • Generate shareable vet summary reports
  • Send you notifications (if enabled)

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Yumipal:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI health insights and chat
  • Vercel — hosting and deployment

Each service has its own privacy policy. Your pet's health data is sent to Anthropic's API for processing but is not used to train their models.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, solely to provide the Yumipal service.

5. Vet Summary Sharing

When you generate a vet summary, a shareable link is created that allows anyone with the link to view the summary. Links expire after 30 days. You control when and with whom you share these links.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security ensuring users can only access their own data. Photos are stored in Supabase Storage. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data through the app at any time
  • Correct your data by editing your pet profile
  • Delete your account and all associated data permanently through Settings > Delete Account
  • Export your data (coming soon)

8. Children's Privacy

Yumipal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
